Wind from China II in 73rd PSA Annual Conference

At the PSA International Conference in Colorado Spring, Mr. Daduan Deng delivered the following Presentation named as Wind from China II, in which PSA China’s Work Station and Photographic Based was introduced with selected images taken from those sites by PSA members in China.

China is a country with mass population and vast territory. In order to promote the photographic art and PSA in China, some places with rich photographic resources have been chosen as either a work station or a photographic base. The function of work station is more focused on the members recruiting, educating, service and exchange activities while the photographic base’s s more aimed at the services to the PSA members on site for their photographic activities and creations.

Xiapu Base, Fujian Province---Beautiful Tidelands with Natural Working Sceneries

Xiapu is a coastal county in Fujian Province, which is well-known for it photographic resources in the circle of China photography. The coastal line stretched to 404 kilometers which is praised as the most beautiful coastal line in China. Besides it has the fabulous and unique tidelands which change the shape as the tidewater up and down on which people work for different aquatic products. Xiapu so far has won the reputation as the top photographic site among Chinese photographers. Images of Xiapu have won the photographers plenty of awards in the international exhibition all over the world.

The section of this presentation will show the images taken by PSA members in China led by Mr. Dexiong Zheng, PSA International Representative and the Director of PSA China Xiapu Base.

Hangzhou Work Station, Zhejiang Province---Scenic and Historical Site

Hangzhou is chosen as PSA China Station because of the mass photographers, various photographic activities and rich photographic resources. Hangzhou is located at the southeast coast of China and at the south end of the famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and its hilly area is the end of Tianmu Mountain Chain. Its beautiful landscape include the hilly mountainous area and West Lake Scenic Site, near which there is another well-known scenic site, Xixi National Wetland Park which is honored as the first national wetland park in China, Chinese wetland museum and national base of environmental protection and popular science. Besides Hangzhou is also a historical and cultural city. It is one of the eight ancient capitals in Chinese history and there are a lot of old folk customs for photography.

The presentation will be containing selected images by PSA China members led by Mr. Zongqi Wu, PSA International Representative in China and the Director of PSA China Hangzhou Station.

Xin’an River and Thousand-Island Lake Bases

Located in southwest and west of Hangzhou, both are ranked as fabulous waterscape in China. Xin’an River has won the title of Chinese Top Ten Arcadias and the National Ecological Demonstration Area, while Thousand-Island Lake enjoys the reputation of “the most beautiful water in the world”. Photographic activities held every year attract photographers all over China and images taken here have won plenty awards in China as well as in the recognized international exhibitions in the world.

Wuchuan Base, Guangdong Province

Located in the southwest of Guangdong province, Wuchuan faces South China Sea with its glamorous coastal scenery which also added with local cultural customs and historical flavor. Wuchuan is regarded as one of the most attractive photographic sites in the south of China.

Images taken by PSA members here in Wuchuan will be presented, among which the majority is contributed by Mr. Tong Hu, the Director of PSA China Wuchuan Base.

Yuangshuo Base, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Yangshuo County lies in the northeast Guangxi and to the east of Guilin City. The special karst topography gives Yangshuo breath-taking scenery while over 1400 years of history bless it with a deep traditional culture. The famous Li River traverses the county along which thousands of hills stand in different poses. Houses and streets in Yangshuo are well kept in the original and ancient style, simple and primitive. All these help Yangshuo win the title of number one beautiful scene in China.
